Methods A total of 161 head nurses about10 secondary?hospitals in YiChang were recruited by questionnaire survey. Results There are 11.7% of head nurse involved in scientific research project, 44.7% of them Unpublished paper, and 80% of them had never received scientific research knowledge and training in school.95.1% of head nurse think the nursing scientific research is very important,and willing to participate in scientific research study, 69.6% of them want to take part in the practical activity. Conclusion Head nurse scientific research foundation weak, the secondary hospital scientific research achievements, but positive scientific attitude, scientific research will strongly, the hospital should pay attention to the head nurse scientific research needs, provide effective training, promote nursing scientific research. 【Key words】Head nurse, Research capacity, Scientific research management 基金项目：湖北省教育厅科学技术研究项目（编号： 作者单位：1 三峡大学人民医院湖北 宜昌 443000 杨怀洁 护理科研是提高护理质量、促进护理理论发展的重要途径[1]。护士长作为护理学科的带头人，其科研能力对培养高级护理人才、发展和创新临床护理理论及指导临床护理实践和临床科研教学效果均具有重要作用[2]。目前关于三级医院护士长科研现状调查及提高护士长科研能力的研究较多[3, 4]，但对二级医院的关注和研究较少。根据医院等级划分和评审要求，二级医院除了完成临床医疗护理任务，还要求能进行一定程度的教学和科研工作[5]。基于护士长科研能力对整个护理团队科研素养提升的重要作用和影响[6]，我们调查本地区所辖共8个县市二级医院护士长科研水平现状和培训需求，为制定合理可行的科研培训计划，进一步提升本地区县市级二级医院护士长科研能力提供依据。 1 对象和方法 1.1 调查工具 根据文献荟萃结果[7, 8]，调查问卷由医院专家委员会成员讨论制定。内容包括：一般资料，科研基础及科研成果、科研意愿，对科研所持的态度以及培训需求等5个维度16个条目组成。其中一般资料包括：年龄、第一学
