Methods 18 cases of severe acute pulmonary edema (cardiac and non-cardiac) patients in the the traditional conventional therapy, while the addition of artificial mechanical ventilation ventilator through the nose, mouth intubation or tracheostomy positive airway pressure treatment, observation arterial blood gas pH before and after ventilation, PaO2, PaCO2, SaO2 changes as well as changes in patient HR, PR, BP and clinical signs of results ventilation treatment, 18 patients clinical improvement, such as pH, PaO2, PaCO2, SaO2 parameters before treatment there is a significant difference (P lt;0.05,18 patients were successfully rescued, smooth offline. conclusions artificial mechanical ventilation for acute severe pulmonary edema quickly improve symptoms and hypoxemia, is a safe and effective rescue of severe acute pulmonary edema secondary treatment.
