Abstract Land is the important material resource of human existence and development. With the increase of economic development, the destruction on ecological environment of land is more and more serious, which continue to expand and deepen. People and land have become increasingly prominent. As one important aspect of ecological security, land resources are very significant. At present, there are many researches about the sustainable use of land resources between domestic and foreign, which are concentrated in the driving forces and trend change of land use patterns. Ecological safety research of land resources is the front in the development of a new topic. In the context, it has the historical and realistic significance for ecological safety research of land resources. The paper choose Dongjiangyuan region of Jiangxi province as the research object, which is in the typical eco-vulnerability region. Through the collection of historical maps, government statistics, the remote sensing image data, process and comprehensive analysis the land resources of sustainable use and the change impacts on ecological security. The main content and conclusion in this research are as follows: (1) Dongjiangyuan region land use change analysis. The paper analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics from several aspects such as the comprehensive index, dynamic degree, state index model of land use types, and further explored the dynamic changes of land use during the year 1986 to 2005 in Dongjiangyuan region. The results show that the LUCC was steadily developed in Dongjiangyuan. By contrast, types of land use change in the 1995-2005 years more than in the 1986-1995 years.
