The following brief outline of the toxic side effects of Chinese medicine and the causes of its occurrence are analyzed and discussed. 1 foreign reports on the side effects of Chinese Medicine 1.1 small Bupleurum Decoction and drug pneumonia Drug-induced pneumonia caused by Chinese herbs is quite rare. However, Japanese scholar Kuyama Kuniki and others reported for the first time 1 cases of drug-induced pneumonia (1) caused by Xiao Chai Hu Decoction in 1989. According to the data reported by Japan, in June, only 3 and a half years, 1990~1993 cases of drug-induced pneumonia were discovered in 35 cases, 28 of which were caused by Xiao Chaihu Decoction [2].
