Most of the pathological changes in vitreous diseases, except for age changes, are from retinal diseases and choroidal diseases, which involve acquired changes and abnormal changes in development. Since the end of 1970s, vitreous surgery has been developed and improved rapidly. It has become one of the most important methods for the treatment of ocular diseases. This chapter provides a better understanding of the etiology, clinical presentation and treatment of vitreous diseases, including vitreous surgery. The first section is an overview Vitreous body is transparent gel, mainly composed of fine collagen hyaluronic acid (collagen) and hydrophilic (Hyaluronic acid).
