This technique possesses the advantages of reliability, short repair period and low cost. This provides reference for persons in charge of repairing marine tail shaft and other shaft components. Key works: thermal spraying; high velocity arc spraying; marine tail shafts; repairing; coating design The stern shaft of ship is an important part of ship shaft system. Its working condition is directly related to the safety of ships running. When the stern shaft is seriously damaged, corroded and scratched, it must be repaired. The check must be stern in the dock (or ship), repair of long period, high cost, often affect the whole ship repair period, so how to fast, reliable and economical for the repair of the tail shaft wear has been valued by [1] for ship repair ente
