A stract: Anaerobic ammonium oxidation ( Anammox ) is an important discovery in the field of
microbiology and environmental science and is of scientific and practical valuableIt has been proved that
both nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria are also of Anammox activity in addition to p l anctomy ce tes now n
as Anammox bacteria earlyT o use anaerobic granular and nitrifying sludges, as w ell as autotrophic and
heterotrophic denitrifying sludges as insition, Anammox reactor can be successfully started upFour
phases iebacterial lysis phase, lag phase, exponential growth phase and stationary phase are emerged
successively during the startup, and so the startup process can be regulated and controlled in timeSuper
high efficiency of Anammox reactor at both labscale and fullscale has been demonstrated w ith average
