Through clarifying the concept of the second class and explaining its significance and operating procedures of applying it on campus, the thesis was designed to clear the statement that carrying out of the second class is a major component of the reform of geography teaching and it is a great breakthrough in quality education. Qi Town, a junior high school, on which a questionnaire survey was applied to compare ??the differences in interest of learning between the experimental class (for the second class of the plant) and control classes (not to carry out the plants second class) students in the geographical area. The results showed that: the experimental group of students tended to be more willing to learn geography than the control group by an average of 13.8% and averagely 4.8% higher than the control classes on the attention of the geography. It also showed the experimental class’s ability to apply knowledge into practice is averagely 8% higher than that of the control class. Researches have suggested that carrying out the second class of geography dose help inspire and maintain students’ learning interest in geography and improve their ability of practice.
