Bencraft Joly 溘然离世，只留下 56 回的译文。该译本是完全按照中文版本翻译的，并非英文版的简写本，故在某种意义 上乔译亦可算作“全译本”。邦索尔神父（B.S.Bonsall) 的《红楼梦》英译文独自完成 于 20 世纪 50 年代末, 比杨宪益和戴乃迭英译本、霍克斯和闵福德英译本的问世早了 约 20 年，但一直未付梓出版，直到 2004 年才与世人见面。在过去的近 10 年时间里， 有关邦译的研究依然不多。本文以《红楼梦》前八十回中的明喻为切入点，以四个译 本为依托，运用符号学的一些基本理论，采用定性、定量相结合
