An Analysis of On―line English Writing Abstract. English writing is an important part of English teaching， College English writing is one of the most critical indicators of students comprehensive and applicative level. On-line writing lab provides a new platform for online English writing .This paper analyzed the current situation of college English writing， introduced the main contents of on-line English writing， explored the design and implementation of on-line English writing. The current situation of College English writing It goes without saying that wrting is regarded as the most important output skills in English teaching. Among the five skills in college English， that is， listening ，speaking， reading， writing and translating， writing is the most difficult skill to grasp. CET-4， CET-6 have set the minimum points of writing， but according to the researches， the average points of writing usually get 7， it hasn’t attained the passing line， the students’ writing level hasn’t got a substantial increase actually. The phenomenon caught the attention of the teaching staff， especially the experts and scholars of English writing. They have a wide discussion and in-depth study about this： First， The teachers and students haven’t enough concern about writing. Second， We haven’t enough English input， only have poor writing contents. Third， We also haven’t a perfect writing environment and only have simple evaluation methods. Fourth， We lack of writing class time， we can’t carry on the system of writing teaching. So， there are lots of grammatical mistakes， Chinese- English ， poor expressions in students’ writing papers.
