Along with thedevelopment of technology，higher and higher SOE resolution is required in intelligent terminal and measurement and control device. Main reasons influenced the SOE resolution of power system automation device are analyzed. The relation formula between the timer interrupt cycle of the power system automation device and the accuracy of SOE resolution is deduced，and the constraints condition between the SOE resolution index and the interrupt cycle is obtained. Combining with factors influenced the accuracy of SOE resolution of power automation device，performance indexes that the test equipment of SOE resolution of power automation device should have and measures to guarantee the consistency of the test equipment are proposed.
