1. What kind of teachers did the speaker have in high school and why didn’t they get the chance to teach at college?
Her teachers in high school were mostly unmarried women with brilliant minds, and were excellent teachers. Because of the Depression and the fact that they were women, they had no chance to teach at the college level.
2. How were woman students treated at Radcliffe College?
At Radcliffe College, women students were not taken seriously at all. They got the message that they were intelligent and able women but destined to marry and raise children.
