Deputy General Manager TE?A?/TURKEY Excellencies, Distinguished Delegates; At the beginning of my words, I would like to express my gratitude to be among the Excellencies Ministers, distinguished CEO’s and delegates of MEDELEC countries on the occasion of MEDELEC Conference on “Towards a Mediterranean Market for Electricity” in Sharm El-Sheikh, one of the magnificent cities of Egypt. As we all know, recent global changes tend the nations to get a series of special measures to adapt their economic and legislative structure to today’s prevailing trends. Such fundamental changes are aimed at development and economic growth of the countries in close cooperation with nations on regional and bilateral basis. Energy is the driving force for socio-economic and technological developments. Therefore, supply of the lowest-cost, uninterrupted, reliable and environment friendly energy and its security are essential factors which the countries should always keep in consideration. Depending upon only own energy resources will not always satisfy the requirements of sustainable energy supply and security. Thus, source and country diversification comes to play a vital role in this respect. Supply of clean and environment friendly energy is another dimension in this chain.
