When preparing solutions, use deionized or distilled water and reagents of the highest available grade. Sterilizationó by filtration through a 0.22-µm filter or by autoclavingóis recommended for most solutions stored at room temperature and is essential for cell culture applications. Where storage conditions are not specified, store up to 6 months at room temperature. Discard any reagent that shows evidence of contamination, precipitation, or discoloration.
