The paper considers how to resolve current perceptions about the most comm only encountered problems of people and the environment. Concepts of “Earth ethics ” and “ecology” are used as a reference for interpretation, and are cross-referenced, in order to explore the deep implications for environmental philosophy and environmental ethics concealed within the Book of Changes. Reading in this vein, I hope to offer a new interpretation of the I-Ching that gives practical impetus to the achievement of environmental conservation.
