Under the com- p lex international background of South Ch ina Sea, it accordsw ith their long-term benefits to study the fisheries cooperation bewt een Ch ina and ASEAN. The successfu l solution of South Ch ina Sea is propitious to fisheries cooperation between China and ASEAN, and whereas the further fisheries cooperation bewt een China and ASEAN w ill also prom pt the successfu l solu tion of South Ch ina Sea as soon as possib le. In recen t years, the fisheries cooperations bewt een Ch ina and ASEAN have been m ade great achievem ents, especially be- ginning from the strengthened agricultural cooperations betw een Ch ina and ASEAN in 2001.
