The responses to all reviewer comments of our manuscript were answered point-by-point as follows. In the revised manuscript, the places where have been modified will highlight in blue. (Note: All the line numbers in these responses derive from the revised manuscript.) Special comments Reviewer #1: (1) Page 3, Abstract: Include sentences describing the uniqueness and importance of this research. Response: Thank you for your valuable suggestion. In the revised manuscript, sentence of “A large portion of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from e-waste released into the coastal areas may be the potential source of PCBs to the global oceans” has been added in the Abstract. (2) Page3, Line 24-26. This sentence is not grammatically correct; revise. Response: Thank you for your reminding. It has been corrected. (3) Page3, Line 26. Delete Concentrations of. Response: It has been deleted. (4) Page 3, Line 27. Change the new to this. Response: It has been changed. (5) Page3. Line 28-30. Re-write. This sentence is confusing. Response: I am sorry for express ambiguously. The sentence has been changed to “The full data set was used to estimate the burden of PCBs in YRE and adjacent ECS. A total sediment burdens were 192.8 tons, with the spatial density of 364 ng/cm2 which accounts for 1.9 % of all the PCBs in China”. (6) Page 4, Line 47. Revise this sentence.
