情态动词?modal?verb 考点 情态动词的基本用法。 情态动词表示推测或判断。 虚拟语气在宾语从句和条件状语从句中的运用。 1. can, could, be able to 能力,能够(can现在could过去) Can I go to the bathroom? I don’t know. You must know if you can. 2. may, might 可以,允许 (比can/could更正式) He says we may leave. 表示可能 区别:maybe, may be 3. should,ought to should “应该” (义务、责任或劝告) Books and friends should be few but good. ought to语气更强 Everybody ought to do at least two things each day that he hates to do. 4. must, have to must 必须:主动 mustn’t 表示禁止做某事。如: You mustn’t smoke in the office. have to不得不:被动接受 have to—had to 有时态变化 I have to be at my office every evening. Must …? Yes, you must. No, you don’t have to./No, you needn’t. 5. need“需要,必须”dare“敢” 实意动词情态动词(否定、疑问) 肯定句: need/dare to do(实意动词) need/dare do (情态动词) 否定句: needn’t/daren’t do(情态动词) don’t need to do(实意动词) don’t dare to do You __ to the meeting this morning if you have something important to do.
