摘要 近年来，随着全球文化交流活动的日益频繁，越来越多的英文影视作品进入中国市场，拥有了庞大的观众群体。电影作为一门艺术，不同于其它体裁作品，它往往是作者根据文学作品或自身社会经历、自身文化背景下的思想进行的创作,包含了丰富的异域语言、文化、社会、历史等大量的信息。这就意味着英文电影翻译不仅仅局限于某种语言操作或语言活动，而是一种以语言为中介的双语互动或文化互动现象的翻译。而在英文影视作品译制的过程中，如何给英文电影冠以一个精彩贴切的中文片名，是尤为关键的环节，电影片名可以说是电影的精髓和宣传标语。成功的电影译名不仅能起到传达电影信息，体现影片美感的作用，更能感召观众观影，创造商业利益。片名的翻译既要真实反应作品内容风格，也要保持文化信息，同时还要被译文的观众接受。本文在此基础上，根据功能对等理论，结合英文电影片名的特点、原则和功能，探讨了功能对等理论在英文电影片名翻译中的可行性，同时介绍了英文电影片名翻译策略常用的三种方法，即直译、音译、意译。 关键词：功能对等理论；英文电影片名；翻译方法 Abstract In recent years, with the cultural exchange activities all over the world developing frequently, more and more English film and television works enter the Chinese market, which is in possession of a majority of audience. Film, as a kind of art, is different from other types of work, it is often created on the basis of literary works, their own social experience or their own cultural background, containing a wealth of information about exotic language, culture, history and society. That means that the English film translation is not limited to some language operation or language activities, but the translation of a language-mediated bilingual interaction or cultural interaction phenomenon. In the process of translating English film, how to give English movies a brilliant and appropriate Chinese title is a particularly critical segment, the film title can be described as the essence of the film. Successful film translation not only can play a role in conveying the information and reflecting the beauty of the film, but also appeal to the audience to watch, thus creating business benefits.
