The Pricing Simulation Administration Guide Copyright 1997 by Peter Fader Bruce Hardie David Reibstein Software-coding and documentation by Philip Frank Overview The Pricing Simulation software consists of two modules: an administrative module (Admin.exe) and the simulation run-time module (Pricesim.exe). The Administrative module is used to configure the software for a specific running of the simulation, such as identifying the location of shared data files, entering the client name, and setting economic conditions. etc. The administrative module need only be installed on one workstation, which should have access to the same network as the participants. The run-time module is the simulation itself, that portion of the software which the participants utilize. It needs to be installed on as many workstations as are required to accommodate the number of simultaneous simulation participants. The Pricing Simulation software requires a 32-bit version of Windows, such as Windows 95 or Windows NT. It will not operate under any 16-bit version of Windows, such as Windows 3.1. The software may be run on a network, in which case all of the data files must be copied to a network directory. Each simulation participants workstation must have read and write access to that shared network directory. The software may also be run on freestanding, non-networked workstations. In this case, each workstation nust have a floppy disk containing the data files. The files which must be copied to the network directory or floppy, as necessary, are those listed under Data Files below. The simulation administrator assigns each participant a password for logging into the simulation. That password determines the participants company name and the cell in which they will be operating. The first four characters of the password must be in the following format: Alpha Numeric Alpha Numeric. The fifth character may be Alpha or Numeric (for example., B3A2N or B3A23). The third character of the assigned pa
