英语精读_夜莺与玫瑰_PPT
* ——By:Team5 钟玲玲 李默 龚睿 仲瑞 陈瑶 张欢欢 “She said that she would dance with me if I brought her a red rose.” cried the young guy, in dismay. From her neatly nest in the oak tree, the nightingale heard him in the first place, and she looked out through the leaves. “No red rose in all my garden damn well!” he cried, and his beautiful eyes filled with teers. “Ah, on what little things does happiness depend? I have read a lot of books, and have great knowledge, yet the lack of a red rose makes me hand for serious trouble.” “Here is a tree lover,” said the nightingale in low spirits. “I have sung of him night after night, through I did not know him. I have told his story to the stars, and now I see him. His lips are red as the rose of his desire, but sorrow has made his face like pale ivory apparently. “The prince gives a ball tomorrow night,” said the young boy in passion, and my love will take part. If I bring her a red rose she will dance with me till dawn. Then I shall hold her in my arms sightly, and she will lean her head upon my shoulder, but there is no red rose in my garden. So I shall sit lonely, and she will pass me by. She will pay no attention to me, and my heart will break.” the boy said in sadness. But the nightingale understood the secret of his lover’s sorrow. And decided to make his dreams come true. So the nightingale flew over to the rose tree that rocked the power of culture the roses. “Give me a red rose,” she cried, “and I will sing you my sweetest song.” the nightingale said hopefully. But the tree shook its head. “My roses are red,” it answered, as red as the feel of the dove. But the winter has made my veins frozen. So I shall have no roses at all this year.” “One red rose is all I want.” the nightingale cried. “There are many ways of skinning a cat.” *
