立歷 論 Research on Carving industry of Tongsiao 年 理了 來參 里李金李金參行列李 金 李金 見 不 1950 年來 兩 行 李金 Research on Carving industry of Tongsiao Abstract Tongsiao  township  is  located  in  Miaoli  County  on  the west  coast.  The  development of the town is limited by the problems of geo graphical and  environmental factors. After the war, townspeople rebuilded the town center of  Faith ‐  Matsu  (Ci  Hui Temple),  and  hired  someone  as the  masters  from  everywhere  to  participate  in  the  construction  of  the  temple.  Back  to  the  hometown  of  Li  Jinchuan,  carving  master,  was  under  the  invitation  to  participate  in  Lijin  Tai  temple  rebuilding  ranks.  Li  Jinchuan  master  is  responsible for the part of the temple carvings and his exquisite carving skills  was certainly approved and identified by the townspeople.   Because of Li Jinchuan, Tongsiao had the opportunities to develop carving  industry. Nowadays Tongsiao has the good talents and expertises for carving  industry due to the good foundation by Fuzhou school mentoring of succession.  Tongsiao area is known as carved wooden figures and statues which were  totally different from Sanyi natural bird and animal carvings.   Since the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, with some U.S. troops  stationed in Taiwan, and Japanese visited Taiwan, Taiwans carving industry  shifted from the domestic market to export market ; in this way, it changed  producti
