BackgroundAbstractPeptic ulcer (peptic ulcer, PU) is a global common disease, the lifetime prevalence of peptic ulcer disease is about 10%, and easy to relapse, the cause of peptic ulcer is related to many factors. To study this disease, the human establish variety of peptic ulcer model, among acetic acid, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and Helicobacter pylori infection were more used as method of induced chronic peptic ulcer model. In three methods, acetic acid ulcer model is more commonly used, but the disadvantage for the process of induced ulcer is complex and elaborate, the surgical anatomy of higher skill requirements, not easy to master it, and the risk of postoperative infection. NSAIDs induced ulcer method is simple, but the ulcer small and superficial. HP infection induced ulcer model animals are expensive, and the number of some animals achieve experimental requirements have some difficult. So, to established a kind of economical, simple, stable and controllable ulcer model similar to human ulcer, there are many important role in dynamic observation of the entire process of gastric mucosal lesions and explore of the therapeutic effect drugs on gastric mucosal lesions.ObjectiveTo explore the effect of indomethacin induced chronic gastric ulcer model in SD rat pretreated with ethanol.MethodsA total of 84 Sprague-Dawley（SD） rats were divided randomly into six group，the group 1 is 0.05ml acetic acid induced positive control ulcer model. Rats in group 2，3and 4 were given Ind2.5 mg/kg，Ind5mg/kg and 1%CMC by intragastric administration，respectively. The group 5and 6 were pretreated with ethanol 1ml in the first intragastric administration, after 1 hour, Ind2.5mg/kg and Ind5mg/kg was administered intragastrically, respectively.
