models.Theinfluenceofnon-uniformelectricfieldonthepiezoelectriccoefficients werestudied.Theformulasofdensity,dielectricconstant,piezoelectricconstantsand Young’smodulusweregiven.Thepiezoelectricconstantsasfunctionsofvolumesfrac- tion,aspectratio,distributiondensityofthepiezoelectrictubesandmatrixmaterials werediscovered.Bymeansoffiniteelementsoftware,piezoelectriccoefficientsand Young’smodulusmatrixofthecompositeunitwerederivedandtheirchangewiththe volumefractionofceramicmaterialswerestudied.Theirvalueswerecomparedwith thetheoreticalresults.Thestress,whichisapttocausedamagetothecomposite,was simulatedunderdifferentloads.Thevibrationmodesofthecompositeandthechange ofits resonant frequencies with size parameters were analyzed.Undertheconditionthateachpiezoelectrictubeisdrivenindependently,afour tubularcompositeactuatorwasinvstigated.Theoreticalanalysisonitsstaticanddy- namiccharacterwereconductedandformulasofbendingdeflection,outputtorque,and resonancefrequenciesweregiven.Comparedwiththetraditionalthin-walltheory,the analysisinthepaperisconfirmedmorereasonable.Aprototypewasfabricatedand tested.ByuseoffiniteelementanalysiswithANSYS,theoreticalanalysisresultswere verified.Thecharacterofthefourtubularcompositeactuatorwascomparedwiththe conventionalsingle-tubeactuatorwithquarteredelectrodes.Itisconfirmedthatwhen thetwokindsofactuatorsareinthesamesizeanddrivenbythesameelectricfieldinten- sity,fourtubularcompositesactuatorusuallyhasbetterperformance.Inaddition,four tubularcompositesactuatorhavetheadvantagesoflargescalability,smallelectromag- neticradiationandlowdrivingvoltage.Itispossiblefortubularcompositeactuatorto handlewiththedefectsofasymmetricstructureofthepiezoelectrictubeinfabrication, whichis anunconquerableproblem in single-tubeactuator,thus improving thedriving accuracy.Thetubularcompositeactuatorcanreplacetheconventionalsingle-tubeac- tuatorwithquarteredelectrodesandworkinscanningprobemicroscopes,piezoelectric motors,piezoelectric gyroscopes, and even more exten
