ABSTRACTChina is porcelain kingdom; it’s also one of the earliest countries which knows how to brew wine in the world. Ceramic wine set as the amalgamation of both porcelain and wine culture bear the weight of Chinese five thousand years history and comprehension of wine culture. Although ceramic wine set appeared in the Neolithic Age, porcelain wine set was developed in the Eastern Han Dynasty and further promoted in Wei Jin period, it began to prosperous until to the Song dynasty. The classical style, beautiful decoration, exquisite craftwork and intensive culture of Tang Song ceramic wine set present not only the visual enjoyment of beauty, but also is a culture banquet. The winy aroma is permeated in the entire Chinese cultural history.This paper is based on the research of aesthetics and culture of Tang Song dynastic ceramic wine set and then to explore the developmental and innovational method of ceramic wine set design in contemporary times. Firstly, understand the sort of category and function of ceramic wine set. Secondly, summarize the aesthetics characteristics of Tang Song dynastic ceramic wine set from its style, decoration and craftwork. Furthermore, enumerate the representative Tang Song dynastic ceramicIIIwine set and then analyzing its characteristics and discussing its cultural background. Finally, the recent development of ceramic wine set was analyzed in this paper, the issues about the ceramic wine set design in contemporary times were found out and resolved, analyzing the creation and application of the design concept, aesthetics and culture of Tang Song dynastic ceramic wine set in recent times, probing a creative and developmental way of wine culture.
