By study of this lesson, the Ss should know how to introduce themselves and how to write e-mail to their pen pal with simple words and sentences .The study of this lesson will help the Ss with daily communication. Part 1 Analysis of materials Part 2 Analysis of students Sixth grade students have been exposed to English for three years, so they already have some foundation in English. They are lively and have a strong desire to the new things and the knowledge. So I will guide students to master a good learning method and develop their good study habits. 1. Aims on the knowledge (1) Ss can be able to listen ,speak ,recognize and read the contents of two e-mails from Let’s read . (2) Ss can learn some knowledge about e-mail. 2. Aims on the abilities (1) To develop Ss’ abilities of reading. (2) To train the Ss’ ability of working in groups. 3. Aims on the emotion (1)To foster Ss’ consciousness of good co-operation and proper competition. (2) By completing the task, the Ss increase their interest and set up self-confidence in reading. Part 3 Teaching aims (1)Key points: Ss can read and understand the two e-mails from Let’s read . (2)Difficult points: Ss can read and understand the sentences:My twin sister Ann likes drawing pictures and making kites. We look the same, but we don’t like the same things. Tell me something about you. Part 4 Key points and difficult points I adopt Total Situational Action and Task-based Language Teaching. The first method establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the Ss .It emphasizes a dynamic information exchange between the teacher and Ss.
