What does the word “imagine” mean? word guessing (猜词) 2. What does the word “this” refer to? reference (指代) 3. It can be inferred from the text that … inference (推断) 4. The passage mainly shows us… main idea (主旨大意) 1. Word guessing (猜词) You shouldn’t have blamed him for that，for it wasn’t his fault(错误). What does the word “blamed” mean? It means “ ” in Chinese. 1). 通过因果关系猜词： because，as，since，for，so，thus，as a result，of course，therefore等等表 示前因后果。 参考答案：It means “责备”in Chinese. He is so homely，not at all as handsome as his brother. What does the word “homely” mean? It means “ ” in Chinese. 2). 通过同义词和反义词的关系猜词：and, or, but, while，however。 参考答案：相貌平庸的，不好看的 请在括号处写出下列单词的汉语意思： 前缀un-表反义词： happy / unhappy( )； fair / unfair( )； important / unimportant( )。 后缀-er、-or或-ist表同源名词： calculate / calculator( )； visit / visitor( )； law / lawyer( )； wait / waiter( )； science / scientist( ) 3). 通过构词法猜词 But sometimes，no rain falls for a long，long time.
