Android was developed by the Open Handset Alliance? , a group of more than 30 technology and mobile companies who have come together to accelerate innovation in mobile and offer consumers a richer, less expensive, and better mobile experience, including China Mobile, HTC, KDDI, Motorola, T-Mobile etc… The Open Handset Alliance? committed to commercially deploy handsets and services using the Android Platform in the second half of 2008. The new version of Android Software Development Kit (SDK) was released in March, 2008. This article will cover the basic knowledge of Android Platform, Android SDK, and the development of the LastMusic music player. The LastMusic is a useable music player, the features including an easy using GUI, multiple play models, well supported Chinese. LastMusic made a good use of the networks in Android, including automatically searching and downloading of the lyric, an ease access to the network information of the tracks, artists and albums. The article will give the first hand of Chinese information about Android developing. The LastMusic was developed by Eclipse, Android SDK (m5-rc15), and ADT.
