indicatedthatCx43expressesprimarilyinventricularmyocardiumanditsexpressionanddistributionisassociatedwithischemic,infarctofmyocardiumandtheventriculararrhythmias.WhilethesuddendeathduetoDCMiscausedbyventriculararrhythmias,itisimportanttostudytherelationshipbetweentheexpressionanddistributionofCx43inventricularmyocardiumandthesuddendeathduetoDCM, aimingatprovidingdifferentvisionsforfurtherstudyingtheetiology,pathogenesisandthemechanismofsuddendeathduetoDCM.【Objective】TostudytheexpressionanddistributionofCx43intheleftandrightventriclesinthecasesofsuddendeathfromDCMandpatientswithDCM,andtherelationshipanddifferencebetweenthosetwosituationsinordertoaffordabrand newreferenceforsearchingtheetiology,pathogenesisandmechanismofsudden deathandeventhediagnosisandtreatmentofDCM;tooffersomespecialthoughtsforforensicdiagnosisofsuddendeathduetoDCM.【Materialsandmethods】13autopsycasesofsuddendeathcausedbyDCM andtheheartsamples,casematerialsandparaffinblockswerechosenfromtheDepartmentofForensicScience,TongjiMedicalCollege,HuazhongUniversityof Science and Technology from1997 to 2010 whichare defined as group A. Group B isthepatientswithDCMdonehearttransplantation.Theheartsamplesweredonesteeplytomakeslices.Thecomputerizedimagingandimmunohistochemistrytechnology(SABCmethod)wereusedtodetectthemyocardialCx43expressionanddistributionintheventriclesinbothgroups.Theareaandopticaldensity(OD)of Cx43expressioninDCMintheventricleswerequantitativelydetectedbyimaginganalyticsystem.AlldatawereconductedwithSPSS12.0professionalstatisticalsoftwarepackage.【Results】1.Generalmaterial:IngroupA,all13casesdiedofDMCinclude11 malesand2femaleswithagerangingfrom17to49excepttwochildof7and17 yearsoldwhilein groupB,5 caseswith hearttransplantation consist of3males and 2femaleswithagerangingfrom44to55exceptonechildof13yearsold.2.
