ABSTRACTObjective：Study of protein synthesis initiation factor 4E (Eukaryotic Protein Synthesis Initiation Factor 4E, eIF4E) and matrix metalloproteinase -9 (matrix metalloproteinase9, MMP-9) expression in cholangiocarcinoma, initially revealed eIF4E and MMP-9 protein in cholangiocarcinoma expression and cholangi- ocarcinoma relationship between clinicopathological parameters, and the relationship between eIF4E and MMP-9 protein between the two explore in cholangio- carcinoma tissues, the clinical significance and relationship between the two.Methods：First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, General Surgery, January 2008-June 2014 period 56 cases of cholangiocarcinoma wax block, both surgery and confirmed by pathology. Before surgery, all patients were not receiving beside collected 32 cases of cancer of all types of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other related anti-tumor therapy, the control group specimens, bile duct resection of the organization are the same period of the line, all were confirmed by pathology without tumor cells. The assay eIF4E and MMP-9 in the next 56 cases and 32 cases of bile duct cancer tissues case of using SP method, combined with various clinic- pathological parameters and analyze elaborate.Results：eIF4E protein and MMP-9 protein in cholangiocarcinoma positive rate was 80.36% (45/56), 83.93% (47/56), and both in adjacent positive rate of 6.25% (2/32), 9.38% (3/32),compared with the expression in tissue adjacent to carcinoma, both in the bile duct carcinoma in the expression have significant difference (P 0.05) , using spearman rank correlation analysis showed: eIF4E and MMP-9 expression was positively correlated in cholangiocarcinoma (r = 0.396, P = 0.003).The positive rate of elF4E in cholangiocarcinoma with lymph node metastasis(87.50％) was significant higher than that in the group without lymph nodemetastasis(62.50 ％ )(P 0.05) ； the positive rate of elF4E in the group of poordiffentiation(100%)was higher than that in the gr
