AbstractWiththerapidimprovementofscienceandtechnology,ATM’sfunctionhasbeenmoreandmoreperfect.Combinedwithcard,ATMcanprovidemanykindsofservices,suchasquery,withdrawalsandtransfers,changepassword,etc.Accordingly,moreandmorebanksbegintosetfocustooff-premiseATMduringtheexpansionofdepthdevelopment.IntheprocessofATMlocationdecision,mostbanksselectplaceswithlargeflowofpeopleandfewcompetitorsasalternativelocationsdependingonsubjectiveexperience.Becausethelackofconsiderationofotherfactors,itresultedintheirrationallocationdecisionsandrestrictedbanks’long-termdevelopment.Therefore,ithasimportanttheoreticalandpracticalsignificancetoestablishascientificevaluationsystemandchooseaneffectiveevaluationmethodtohelplocationdecisions.ThroughliteraturestudyandinterviewofbankATMmanagers,thispaperfinallydeterminedfourevaluationfactorswhicharegeographicalenvironment,population,costsandcompetitionbasedonthelocationevaluationtheory.Throughfurtherbrokendownofeachfactor,anindexevaluationsystemwhichisconsistedoffourfactorsandelevenspecificindicatorswasconstructed.Theevaluationmethodinthispaperisextensionanalytichierarchyprocesswhichintroducedtheconceptsofextensionintervalnumberandcorrelationfunctionsonthebasisoftraditionalanalytichierarchyprocesssoastomaketheevaluationprocessmorescientificandreasonable.Intheempiricalresearch,thispaperchoseabank’sATMlocationprobleminHarbinastheobjectofempiricalresearch.Throughcomparativeevaluationofthreealternativeprograms,itobtainedtheoptimalsolutionandthenverifiedthattheevaluationmodelisfeasible.Throughresearch,thispaperdrawthatitshouldmainlypayattentiontogeographicalenvironment,population,costsandcompetitivefactorswhenevaluatethealternativelocationsofoff-premiseATMmachine.Thediscussionofevaluationmethodandempiricalanalysisinthepaperverifiedthattheevaluationmodelbasedonextensionanalytichierarchyprocessisscientifictoapplytooff-premiseATMlocationevaluation.Therefore,usingthismethodcanhelpdecisionmakersreducethedecision-makingmistakesandthenmakeareasonablechoice.
