AbstractPoliticalparticipationisabasiccivicright，alsooneofthemostimportant channelsforcitizenstoexpresstheirrequests.However,migrantworkers’political participationinthecountrysidecouldnotmeetcitizens’needofinterestexpression, withtheinterestsrelationshipbetweenmigrantworkersandruralareasbecoming moreandmore estranged.Incontrast,the requestsrelationshipbetweenmigrant workersandcitiesbecomingtighter,andmigrantworkershaveshowngreat enthusiasmforparticipatingincity’spolitics.Thearticleanalysesthenecessity, feasibilityandsignificanceofmigrantworkers’politicalparticipationincity,and drawsafirmconclusion.Ithinkitisofgreattheoreticalandpracticalsignificancefor ustobringmigrantworkers’politicalparticipationintocity’sinstitutionalized category.However,todaytheactualitiesofmigrantworkersparticipateincity’s politicsismarginal.Incorporateisas follows: First,therateofmigrantworkers participateinresidentcommittee’electionisverylow;Second,theeffectofsystem aboutpeasantworkertorepresentisnotsatisfactory;Again,migrantworkersare excludedfromvarioussocialgroups;Inaddition,themeanstoexpressmigrant workers’concernsaredearth;Finally,migrantworkershavelittleopportunityto contactwithcity’spolitics.Ifconsiderfromattitude,mannerandmotivation,the actualityofmigrantworkersparticipateincity’spoliticshasfollowingcharacteristics: zestforpoliticsco-existswithpoliticalapathy;self-interestispaidcloseattentionto; non-institutionalizedparticipationhasamplifiedphenomenon,etc.Throughthe analysis,itseasytofindoutthatthedifficultyofmigrantworkerspolitical participationisbasedonseveralfactors:Firstofall,biasedomissionofthepolitical system;Second,thelackofrequestexpressionorganization;Third,theinfluenceof citydepartmentalism;Thelastpart,therestrictionofmigrantworkersabilities.
