Unit 7 Teaching grammar Teaching contents the role of the grammar. major methods of grammar presentation. different activities of grammar practice. 7.1 The role of grammar Grammatical competence is essential for communication. Grammar teaching can enhance learner proficiency and accuracy and facilitate the internalization of syntactic system. (p103) Whether should grammar be taught? To what extent should grammar be taught? certain variables变量 in the language teaching/learning context 7.2 Ways of grammar presentation(P104) The deductive method演绎法 The inductive method归纳法 The guided discovery method The deductive method 1. write an example on the board 2.
