withblocks.Theintra/intermodulesaredividedfurtherforpipelineprocess,andmemoryonchipwasallocatedtobuffertheinformationofneighbourblocks.DPBmemorycontrollerwasdesignedtosimplythememoryaccesslogicdesignofmodule.3．Todealwiththeinfluenceoftransmissionerrortovideodecoding,thewholeframelosserrorconcealmentalgorithmbasedonopticalflowtheorywasimproved.Theimprovedalgorithmiseasytorealizeandthereisnoobviousblockeffectanddistortioninreconstructedvideoimages.Thereconstructedvideoqualityexceedsthatofexistingalgorithms,andcanavoidtheerrordiffusioneffectively.Auniversalrealtimeerrorconcealmentalgorithmwassuggestedbasedontheimprovedalgorithm,whichissuitableforhardwareimplementationandcanusedforthelossofboththewholeframeandsomeblocks.ThealgorithmoutperformstheH.264JMreferencealgorithminPSNRanderrorpropagation.Itcansolvetwoproblems,wholeframelossandsomeblocksloss,inonealgorithm,whichcanreducethelogicresourceconsumedwhilehardwareimplementationandachivethegoalofsavingcost.4．Tothesituationthatterminaldeviceswithdifferentdefinitionco-existinonevideoapplication,thedecodingalgorithmofdirectlyreducingthespatialdefinitionofhighdefinitionbitstreamwasproposed.Andanoveldecodingalgorithmframeworkofdirectlyreducingspatialdefinitionwasintroduced,whichwillnotchangetheframeworkofstandarddecoderandcanavoidthetoomanychangesofdecodingparameters.InconsiderationofthenewfeatureofH.264,adirectlyreducingspatialdefinitionalgorithmofresidualwassuggestedbystudyingthedirectlyreducingspatialdefinitionalgorithmofintegerIDCT.Meanwhile,theintrapredictionformulaofthedirectlyreducingspatialdefinitionalgorithmwasintroducedforintracodedmacroblocks.Andthemethodofreferenceblockscalingwasproposedforintercodedmacroblocks,whichcanreduceerrordrifteffectivelywithoutincreasingdecodingcomplexity.Thesimulationresultsindicatesthattheproposedimprovedalgorithmcanimprovethedecodingimagequalitybyawidemargininthepreconditionthatdoesnotincreaseevenreducesystemcomplexity.Keywords：H.264,decoder,pipeline,DPB,CAVLC,IDCT,intraprediction,inte
