Passage :  Visiting an American Family Two years ago, I went to America to continue my study and soon made friends with many of my classmates. I had been hoping to have a chance to visit an American family, so as to learn how to be a guest in an American family. One day, to my great excitement, one of my American friends invited me to have a dinner with his family. I agreed happily with him and asked for the exact time for dinner. As I know, the Americans think highly of being on time. Since I was not sure whether or not to bring a gift, I asked another American friend. He told me that a guest did not have to bring a present in America. But if I did want to bring something, flowers or candy might just be proper. So I decided to bring some flowers for my friend; I guessed his family must be happy to receive the gift. I also learnt that Americans believe good home food beats restaurant food any day.
