ExperimentalandClinicalResearchonNeuralandMentalDevelopmentofNeonatalSeizuresAbstract[Objective]Toexploretheeffectsofhypoglycemiaseizuresonoccipitalcortexneuronsdamageinneonatalratandlearningandmemorychangeafterbraindamage.Toprovideobjectivebasisforpreliminarytraining.Todiscussneonatalseizureseffectonintelligencedevelopment,temperamentandsociallifeability,andtherelationshipbetweenCT/AEEGchangesandprognosis.[Methods]AnimalexperimentsSeventyWistarneonatalratswererandomlydividedintotwogroups,AandB.GroupA,thecontrolgroup,consistedof15ratsbeingnormalfed.GroupBconsistedof55rats,fastingfor16hoursafterbirth.Randomlyselect15ratswithseizureafterfasting12-16hoursastheseizuregroup.Thebehaviorchangesofratsafterfastingwereobserved.Andafter28days,thelearningandmemoryabilityofthetwogroupswereobservedbywatermazetest.Thelightmicroscopewasusedtoobservethepathologicalchangesoftheoccipitalcortexobtainedfromthekilledrats.ClinicaltrialsInthepast4years,66cases,diagnosedclinicallyasneonatalseizuresandtermconvulsionsmettheinclusioncriteriainourhospital,werecollectedastheexperimentalgroup,excludingbraindamageandcongenitalmetabolicdiseases,thedurationofseizures≥3days,atleastonceconvulsiontime≥30minutes,orrepeatedlyattackbutintermittentperiodhavenoconsciousover30minutes,andnofurtherepilepsyafteracuteperiod.Duringthesameperiod,45healthyinfants,borninthedepartmentofgynaecologyandobstetricsofourhospital,wereselectedrandomlyasthecontrolgroup.Sixmonthsaftertheirbirth,intelligencedevelopment,temperamentandsocial-lifeabilitywereresearchedrespectively.AndCTandAEEGwereusedtoexaminethechangesoftheexperimentalgroupintheneonatalperiodand6monthslater.[Results]AnimalexperimentsBehaviorchangeinyoungratsTheseizuregroupshoweddifferentdegreeofhunger,irritability,increasedactivityandforagingbehaviorafterfastingabout8hours.FastingAfter12hours,theseizuregroupshowedlassitude,decreasedactivity,apathyandlethargy.Thereafter,theyexperiencedearandfacialmuscletwitching,myoclonus,orwithuprightposition.Someratsshowedgeneral
