ABSTRACTInthistexttransportofCu(II)ionswasinvestigatedbyahybrid1iquidmembrane(HLM)containingaN902inkeroseneandwithmicroporousp01ypropyleneCelgard2500assolidsupports．FactorsaffectingtransportofCu(II)，suchasthestirringrateinaqueousfeedandorganiCsolution，thestrippingreagentsandtheirconcentration，membranecomposition，andpHofthefeedsolutionhavebeenanalyzed．AmathematicalmodesforthetransportofCu(II)ionsthroughHLMwasdeducedaccordingtointerfacechemistyandmasstransferkinetiC．Theconcreteworkincludes：(1)TheinterfacialtensionsofN902一kerosene／feedphaseandN902一kerosene／strippingphase1iquid—liquidsystemweresystematicallydeterminedbydropvolumemethod．Theinterfacialadsorptionparameters，C^c、C。in、T。in、AlandthefeedenergyofadsorptionAG。dofN902一kerosene／feedphase(orstrippingphase)liquid—liquidsystemhavebeencalculated，suchasbelow1．315umol／L、0．152mol／L、1．64umol／m～、1．02nm2、一0．342kJ／mol(0．112umol／L、0．28mol／L、1．45um01／m～、1．1inm2、一0．302kJ／m01)，respectively．‘(2)TheinfluenceofpHinfeedsolution，ionicstrengthofthefeedsolution，concentrationofCu(II)，thetimeofextractionequilibiumandcarrierconcentrationonextractionofCu(II)wereinvestigatedaccordingtosolventextraction．Theresultsshowthat1molCu(II)reactswith2molcarrierstoformextractedspeciesandequi1ibriumconstantK。。=22．18forextractionreaction．II(3)TheHLMexperimentsverifiedthatthetransportofCu(II)ionsiscoupledbythecounter—transportflowofprotons．ThetheoreticalequationoftransportfluxofCu(II)ionsacrossHLMhasbeendeduced，treatingthedoublesolidmembranesofHLMasasinglemembranewithtwicethegeometricalthicknessofthe，polymersupport．Theeffectofdifferentvariablesonthe。transportofCu(II)werestudied．Theexperimentsverifiedthatthereactionwassimultaneouslycontrolledbyextractionreactionanddiffusionforextractorconcentrationbelow2。5％(w／w)andbydiffusiononlyforextractorconcentrationbeyond2．5％(w／w)．(4)ThetransportofCu(II)ionsfollowstheformalismoftwoconsecutireirreversiblefirst—orderreactions．Theactivationenergyvaluesare30．4kJ·mol。1forextractionand25．2kJ·mol—forstripping．Keywords：SIOMEX
