AbstractEverycityembodiesitsuniqueculturalqualities.Historicdistrictsarethecarrierofthecultureandthehistoryineachcity.Thestreets,architectureandeventhecitizensrepresenttheregionalhistoryatcertaintime.Withtherenewalofhistoricdistrictsaswellasthedevelopmentoftheaudience-orienteddesignphilosophy,theinteractionbetweenpeopleandhistoricdistrictsisbecomingincreasinglyfrequent.Asamatteroffact,theinteractionisbasedontheinformationconstructedandconveyedbyhistoricdistricts.Intendedtogenerateaneffective,efficientinformationtransmissionmodel,thisthesisisdedicatedtoprovidingapossiblestrategyforthedevelopmentofhistoricdistrictsinresponsetotheimproperstrategies,suchascommercialdevelopmentdestruction,artificialhistoricsitesandstaticisolatedprotection.Intheprocessofhistoricdistrictstreetinterfacerenewal,thekeyliesintheenhancementofinformationinteractionefficiencybetweenthedesigner(posingastheinformationconstructoraswellasthereceiver)andtheaudience(alsoserveastheinformationreceiverandtheconstructoratthesametime)andthepreventionfrominformationbias,distortionandmisunderstanding.Builtoninformationtransmissiontheories,thisthesisfocusesonthedesignersinformationconstruction,theeffectiveinformationdeliveryandtheaudiencesinformationreception.Thedesignersinformationconstructionisanalyzedfromtheaspectsofmeaning,informationcollection,themeselectionandinformationencodingTheeffectiveinformationdeliveryisexploredthroughtheanalysisonpracticalcasesinordertosummarizeitspattern,principlesandtheinfluencefactors.Theinformationreceptionisanalyzedonthethreelevelsofaudiencessignificance,psychologicalreconstructionofinformation,andtheaudience-streetinterfaceinformationrelation.Itisprovedthattheprocessofinformationreceptionequalstotheprocessofinformationvalueembodiment.Theinformationinteractionpatternconsistsofthreesections:informationconstruction,deliveryandreception.OnthebasisofactualresearchontheTanhualindistrict,thethesisdiscussesthenecessityandfeasibilityofapplyinginformationtransmissiontheoriesintothehi
