AbstractSatelliteFormationflyingisakeytechnologyforthespacemissionsofthefuture,asaformationofasatellitewillbedoingthejobasasinglesatellitewithhighprecisionandflexibility.ItcancompletemanyspaceandEarthsciencemissions,suchasdistributedapertureradar,enhancedstellarandextensionplanetdetectionopticalinterferometry,virtualcoobservationandstereo-imagingplatformsforspacescience,andEarthobserving.Thechallengethistechnologyfacingisincontrollingthepositionandorientationofadifferentsatellitewithrespecttoasatellitewhichistheknownasthemastersatelliteoftheformationofsatellites.Therearealotofinterferencecoupledwithsatellite’sownuncertaintywhichincreasesthedifficultyofattitudeandpositioncontrol.Inthisdissertation,theattitudeandpositioncontrolalgorithmsaredeeplystudiedfortheproblemofrelativeattitudeandpositioninsatellitesformation.Firstly,westudythemotionmodelofthesatellite,inordertostudybetterthecontrolofrelativeattitudeinsatellitesformation,thesinglesatellitemodelisbuilt,onthatbasistherelativeattitudemotionmodelforLeader-followersatelliteformationflyingisderived,atlastnonlinearrelativedynamicstomodelthefollowerrelativemotionwithrespecttotheleaderisobtained.Secondly,aterminalslidingmodeattitudecontrollerforsinglesatelliteisproposed.Anewslidingmodeisdeveloped,makeadeepanalysisforthesingularproblem,andanonsingularterminalslidingmodeisbroughttoavoidsingular.Numericalsimulationsforproposedcontrolalgorithmsareperformedforprovingthedesignedcontroller’srobustnessunderthesysteminterferenceanduncertainty.Thirdly,weusethenonlinearrelativeattitudedynamicstomodelthefollowerrelativemotionwithrespecttotheleader.Terminalslidingmodecontrollerforleaderandfolloweraredesigned,inparticular,thecontrolalgorithmforfollowerisobtainedonthebaseofrelativeattitudemotionmodel.Eachalgorithm,analyzedbyLyapunovstabilitytheory,canachievethedesiredattitudetrackinginfinitetime.Finally,aimingattheproblemofmaintainingtherelativepositionofsatelliteformation,thenonsingularterminalslidingmodecontrollawisdesigned.Anonsingu
