AbstractBecauseof therapid development oftheelectrical powerindustry,anincreasing amountofcross-linkedpolyethylenecableshavebeenused.Therefore,moreandmore attentionhasbeen paidonXLPEcableinsulationcondition,especiallyonXLPE cablejoint insulationcondition,becausemostoftheproblemsforXLPE-insulatedcablesystemsare causedbyinternaldefectsofthejointswhichhavetobemountedon-site.Inthispaper,the on-linemonitoringforpartialdischarge,thetechnologyofinterferencesuppressionforthe cablejointaswellastheassessmentofinsulationconditionarestudiedbasedonthe Multi-layercompositeinsulate properties ofthecable jointInordertoestimatetheinsulationconditionofthecable,Researchesabout electromagneticparameterssuchasthestructures,thematerialscablejointwereconducted andacomprehensiveanalysisofvariouson-linemonitoringmethodswasdone,afterwhich anovelon-linepartialdischargemonitoringmethodbasedontheprincipleof high-frequencyelectromagneticcouplinganddifferencingfortheinsulationofthecable jointwasproposedfromthepointofviewofpracticalapplication.Therogowskicoil, conditioningcircuitsandtransmissionnetworksinthenewon-linepartialdischarge monitoringsystemforthecablejointwerealsoconsidered.Inaddition,thecharacteristics oftherogowskicoil,conditioningcircuitsintheonlinemonitoringsystemweresimulated in order to provethe validitythis system.Meanwhile，thepartialdischargesignalisrelativelyweak,andiseasilydrownedbythe noiseonline, thus, not onlyahighsignal-to-noise ratio of signals sampled bythesensor hardwarecircuitinthesystembutalsothesoftwaretechnologyofinterferencesuppression tosamplevalidsignalsfromthenoiseonlineisconsideredinthis system.Becauseperiodic interference,whitenoiseandpulseinterferencearewidespreadinthepartialdischarge signal,andmultiratefilterbasedonwavelettheoryisusedtosuppressthenoisetogetthe time-domainwaveformofthepartialdischargewhichcanbeeasilyseparatedfromnoise signalsfortheconvenienceofextraction,andisprovedbythesimulationsoftware.
