* * Student Notes A Transvalvular Insertion (TVI) tool is required for insertion into the SafeSheath Sealing Adapter due to flexible distal end of the 4196. All Medtronic stocked valves are compatible with 4196 – no TVI tool required. TVI tool logistics: The TVI tool will not be packaged with the Attain Ability They will be available for purchase in packs of five through Medtronic distribution Each pack of five will cost $100 The Medtronic Model number is TVI07 Instructor Notes * * NOTES: The guide wire insertion tool has been modified for the Attain Ability lead. It now consists of two channels. The shorter channel is similar to the previous guide wire insertion tool and is for front loading at the connector pin. The longer channel is modified to assist with back loading at the tip seal. The lead tip and cants will be inserted inside of the tool to straighten the lead body. The tool is designed: To avoid insulation damage by straightening the lead For the Attain Ability tip shape and the 4.5 Fr (1.5 mm) size * * NOTES: Rust stylets should not be used with the Attain Ability because of the potential for the rust stylet to perforate through the coil of the Attain Ability * * NOTES: Lead Placement Position both curves at least 1 cm within the target vein Verify that both electrodes have contact with the vein to confirm acceptable thresholds at both cathode locations during implant. This will ensure programmable repositioning as an option post-implant.
