Service Learning Project Visual Display Requirements Each of the following areas must be boldly titled as a specific area of focus on a tri-fold display board. VISUALS!!!!!!!!!!!!! ? Include many visuals (i.e. photos of you volunteering, pictures of your issue (i.e. homeless, animals in need, etc.), information charts and graphs, copies of your letters to congress, responses, etc. Title *Give your project a title (i.e. “Helping the Homeless” , “Protecting the Environment”, “Saving Animals from Harm”, etc.) The lettering should be bold and stand out at the top and center of your tri-fold display board. Three clearly labeled topic areas on your tri-fold poster: 1) Your area of need (i.e. Animals, the environment, the elderly, children, etc.) with background information as to WHY there is a need (info on the problem) and WHY you chose the issue (personalize this). 2) How you created positive change (i.e. detailed account of what did you did volunteer-wise). Include all of your activities (service hours, writing letters to the editor or congressman, numbers of people/animals served, educating others, etc.) You may title this, “How I created positive change” or something similar. 3) What you learned (How you used the Six?Pillars of Character/what you learned from the experience---see the Six Pillars of Character reflection questions in your assignment sheet). You may title this, “What I learned” or “How I used the Six Pillars of Character” Lifes most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others? –Martin Luther King, Jr. * * Telling Your Story…. Someone who visits your display table should be able to know the story of your project, its resulting impact, and what you learned from it, even if you are not there. Be creative!!!! ? You want people INSPIRE people to serve others!!! Think COLOR, VISUALS, EXCITEMENT!!!! ?
