Abstract With the rapid development of social economy and Internet, the personal requirements of customers expand continually. It is a migration away from the traditional model base on product competition towards a new customer-centric model. The market segment has entered the mass customization era. The goal of mass customization is providing personal products and service with the low cost and high speed of mass production. Product configuration is an critical technology for mass customization as a bridge between personal requirements and enabling means to realize fast product configuration. In this article, the present research and development of product configuration is introduced, and relevant methods and techniques are summarized. The existing deficient problems can be concluded as: having weak expressions in configuration knowledge, performing badly in knowledge sharing, being lack of reusability of configuration model. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a combinational product configuration with ontology reasoning and ontology mapping technology. The main content of this thesis is as follows: (1) Product Configuration Framework. Based on the analysis of existing product configuration level frame and discussion the relationship between the various parts of the concept, it propose two solutions and configuration ontology four level frame structural model. (2) The Acquisition of Conceptual knowledge. The common concepts of product configuration method are analyzed. It builds a four-layer model in the framework of product configuration meta-model (configuration meta-model layer), computer product configuration model (the field of product configuration model layer), computer product configuration case model (the field of product configuration instance layer).
