As of 2011 November, the Central Propaganda Department has been announced 356 national patriotism education demonstration bases, at the same time, local governments established a large number of Patriotism education bases at different levels.The education functions of Patriotism education bases mainly include insisting on the belief of constructing Chinese characteristics socialismconstruction ， enhancing visitors’ sense of identity to the history andpride to the nationality, enhancing visitors’sense of responsibility and mission to actively join in the Chinese modernization career. In recent years, Patriotism education bases have made great achievements, but the educational function of Patriotism education bases education still need to be excavated in order to play more important role.Currently, Patriotism education bases expose problems, for example: the phenomena of construction attaching great importance to quantity and belittle quality is still exist, the phenomena of the utilization attaching great importance to modality and belittle content is needed to be improved, the function of patriotism education bases is limited and so on.There are four reasons for these problems: First, the patriotismeducation base management mechanism is not perfect and the funds for construction is not enough; second, the patriotism base did not build itself well; thirdly, the educator and educatee did not avail itself of the base; fourthly, education evaluation system is imperfect.In response to these matters the paper proposes the following countermeasures: first of all, to strengthen patriotic education bases, including infrastructure’s construction, construct
