Inhabitants in the village have instead relied on cash crops as their main source of income. In order to increase crop yields, people utilized conventional agriculture methods, involving large amounts of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, for many years. These practices eventually took a toll on both the land and the well-being of local residents. Additionally, because the Quri Community is located in the upstream catchment area of the Shihmen Reservoir, residents engaged in agriculture in this area were accused of damaging the land and contributing to reservoir sedimentation.
