AbstractWiththerapiddevelopmentofChineseeconomic,theproblemsofenergyshortageareincreasinglyevident.Comparingwiththeenergyfromcoalandfossiloil,hydropowerisakindofcleanandrenewableenergyformthatmakingrationaluseofwaterresourceissignificantlyimportanttosolvesuchproblemsproducedbyenergyshortage.Asaresultofthat,applyingoptimizationtheorytoestablishtheoptimalschedulingofreservoirsundertheexistingconstraintconditionsisasubjectofgreattheoreticsignificanceandpracticalvalues.Asthesolvingofoptimalschedulingproblemisaconstrainedoptimizationproblem,traditionalsolutionstothisproblemmakehighdemandtotargetfunction,havehugeworkloadandconsumelotsoftime,andintelligentoptimizationtechniquesarelimitedmoreorlessoneffectivenessandconvergence.Forexample,genericalgorithmhasaproblemofprematureconvergence,andparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithmisinclinedtogetalocalextreme.Underthesecircumstances,intelligentalgorithmsareusuallymodifiedtosolvethisproblem.Inthispaper,themeaningandpresentresearchstatesofoptimalschedulingofreservoirsarefirstlypresented,optimizationtheoryisthenintroducedandtheprincipleofparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithmanalyzed.Throughseveralcommontestfunctions,theimpactsofparametersettingareexaminedandseveralcommonmodifiedparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithmsareexpounded.Onthesebases,thesimulatedannealingmethodisintegratedintotheparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithmtoovercomethedeficiencyaboveandimprovetheglobalsearchingability.Inordertotesttheeffectofthismodifiedalgorithm,itiscomparedwithothermodifiedalgorithmsbyapplyingthemtostandardtestfunctionsandanalyzingtheiroutcomes.Resultsshowthatmodifiedparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithmbasedonsimulatedannealingcanovercometheinherentdefectsofstandardparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithmandhasbetterconvergenceeffect.Then,themodifiedparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithmisappliedtononlinearconstraintoptimizationproblemsandtheoutcomesarecomparedwiththosefromstandardparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithm.Itturnsoutthatthemodifiedparticleswarmoptimizationalgor
