ABSTRACTEutrophicationphenomenonhasappearedlarge-proportionintributariestotheThreeGorgesReservoirafterimpoundmentbecauseitshydrodynamicsconditionhasbeenchangedobviously.TheobviouscharactersareChlorophyll-a(Chla)concentrationincreased(TheChlaconcentrationevenreachhundredsmilligrammeperstereinseriousarea),transparenceanddissolvingoxygenreduced.Notonlyitcanleadtowaterfunctionobstacle,affectbreedaquaticsandsightseeing,butalsothealgaetoxinandderivativeitprocreantareseriouslyharmfultohealth，survivalandmultiplicationofpeople.Thisphenomenonhasarousedhighlyattentionofthedepartments.Butthehistoryofeutrophicationinvestigationisshort,anditsoccurrence,developmentandcontrolarecomplex.Thus,tillnow,therearenounifiedstandardsofindexsystem,appraisecriterionandmethodwhichevaluatethewatereutrophicationintheworld.InordertoguaranteesafetyofwaterenvironmentintheThreeGorgesReservoir,waterqualityactualitiesof10typicaltributariesweremonitoredandappraised,andtheexperientialeutrophicationmodelswerefoundedinthisthesis.Algaegrowthmechanismanditseffectfactorswereanalyzed,activealgaecellanalyticalmethodandmensurationwerebroughtforward,andtrialstudiesofalgaegrowthintributarieswerecarried.Thecontentsandresultsweresummarizedasbelow.①Eutrophicationof10tributariestotheThreeGorgesReservoirwasstudied.Itshowedthatdifferentdegreesofeutrophicationwereoccurredin10tributariesfrom2004to2006.ThedominancealgaewereBacillariophyta,Pyrrophyta,CyanophytaandChlorophyta,butsometimeswereCryptophytaandothers.②TheexperientialmodelofeutrophicationofthetributariestotheThreeGorgesReservoirwasvalidated.ItshowedthattheeligibilityrationofChla-TPmodel,Chla-CODMnmodel,Chla-TNmodelandChla-SDmodelwouldbe77%,75%,68%and67%respectivelyin57modelswhichhasremarkablemeaning(α=0.10),iftakingabsolutevalueofRE%ofChlaforecastvalueandmonitoringvaluelessthan80%aseligibledate.③AlgaegrowthmechanismofthetributariesintheThreeGorgesReservoirwasanalyzed.Itshowedthatthenecessaryconditionsofeutrophicationwereappropriatetemperatureandabundanceilluminat
