AbstractBecauseofhistorical,geographicalandmanyotherreasons,provincialborder-regionsshowedmoreLess-developednature,uncoordinatedandunsustainable,form“AdministrativeRegionoftheedgeoftheeconomy”withaclearcharacteristics.However,inter-provincialborder-regionshavemoreroomforthedynamicandbroadland-usetransformationspace,resultinahighdegreeofspatialstructurecanbeabletostimulateahigherpotentialforspatialstructureoptimization.Andbyvirtueoffewerconstraints,locationadvantagesandsoon,“inter-provincialborder”willbecomeamajorforcecausingfundamentalchangesinregionalspatialstructureofcities.Meanwhile,Inter-provincialborder-regionsisalsoresource-intensiveareas,ecologicallysensitiveareasandethnicghettos,iftheelementsoftheseresourcescanbeusedeffectively,todeveloptourismasaprioritydevelopmentareas,theoriginalnegativewouldbetransformedintotheadvantages.Thus,boundaryregionisnotsimplythenegativeeffectsofunderdevelopmentand“economicvoid”,butitbreedsbroadboundariesofthepositiveeffectsofpotentialandthe“economicmiracle”.Thedevelopmentoftourismwillbelimitedbytheexpansionofthespaceenvironment.Inthissense,thesizeofthespaceenvironmentwilldeterminethetourismvenuesandthescaleofdevelopment.Secondly,inadditiontoitsstatuswithitsownmatchingtraveldestinationfunctionality,italsoactsastheroleoftourismportalsintheentirespacesystem.Iftheprovincialbordercityasafunctionbodyratherthanthedestination,whetherfromatouristpointofview,orfromthecityspointofview,someproblemswillrequireplacedthecityinabroaderregionalscale.Therefore,thisarticlefromanobjectiveandmulti-dimensionalperspective,tryingtoapplyspaceexpansionstrategy,throughawiderrangeofspatiallayoutofthetourismindustry,sothatinter-provincialborder-regionstourismcompetitionfromdisordertoarationaldevelopment,tocreateanoverallandsustainablecompetitiveadvantage.ThePaperisdividedintosixparts.Thefirstpartisintroduction,toclarifytheresearchbackgroundpapers,significanceandideas；PartIIisdomesticandforeignresearchsummarizing,cardingtheprovincialborderareasandinter-provi
