EffectoffertilizationunderdifferenttreatmentstosoilrespirationrateandecosystemCO2fluxinthedesertsteppeAbstractInthisstudy,wemeasuredsoilrespirationrateandecosystemCO2fluxesofStipaBrevifloraDesertSteppeunderdifferentfertilizingtreatmentsandanalyzedtheseasonalvariationofsoilrespirationandecosystemCO2fluxes,meanvaluesofsoilrespirationrateandCO2fluxesingrowingseason,meanvaluesandthediurnalvariationofsoilrespirationrateandecosystemCO2fluxes,andtherelationshipbetweensoilrespirationrate,CO2fluxesandenvironmentalfactors.Theresultsshowed:soilrespiration:1)Inearlyandmiddlegrowingseason,thesoilrespirationofPandPKfertilizingtreatmentsweresignificantlyhigherthananyothertreatments(P0.05);ThesoilrespirationofKfertilizingtreatmentandCKwererelativelylowerthananyothertreatments,buttherewerenosignificantdifference(P0.05);ApplyingN,PandKfertilizertogetherorapplyingNonlycouldbothelevatedsoilrespirationindesertsteppe,buttheeffectswerenotsignificant.2)ThediurnalandseasonalvariationofsoilrespirationofCKandanyotherfertilizingtreatmentswerealmostthesame,whichindicatedthatfertilizingcouldnotchangethefeatureofdiurnalandseasonalvariationofsoilrespiration.Therewasobviousregularityofdiurnalsoilrespirationrate,forthehighestvaluesoccurredwithin11:00-14:00andthelowestvaluesoccurredwithin03:00-05:00;Theregularityofseasonalvariationshowedone-peakcurvepatternandthehighestpeakofsoilrespirationoccurredinvigorousgrowingseason(August).3)Meandiurnalandseasonalvaluesofsoilrespirationratebetweenallthetreatmentshadnoobviousdifference(P0.05).4)Correlationofsoilrespirationbetweensoiltemperatureat5cmdepthandsoilmoistureat0-10cmdepthshowedthatthecorrelationcoefficientofsoilmoisturewashigherthanthatofsoiltemperature(0.40-0.58and0.5-0.7,respectively),whichindicatedsoilmoistureat0-10cmwasthemajorfactoreffectingsoilrespiration.EcosystemCO2fluxes：1)Inearlyandlategrowingseason,NEE,GEPandERofanyfertilizedplotswerehigherthanCKplots,andNPplotsstatisticallyhigherthanCKplot(p0.05).TheorderofNEE,GEPandERvaluesof3kindsofnitrog
