《狮吼 《狮吼记》故事源流考 英文摘要 The Study On The Origin And Development Of The Story Of Lions Roar Abstract Lion’s Roar is the representative work of Wang Tingne(a famous Chinese dramatist in the Ming Dynasty), and also the first comedy drama which concerned with the story of a henpecked husband and his wife in China. Drama critics mostly affirmed the value of Lion’s Roar, but the existing research rarely involved the sources research of the drama story. This paper examined the origin of Lion’s Roar story, and found that the material of the story presented the characteristics of integration, reflected the understanding and reply of scholar stratum which represented by Wang Tingne toward to jealous women in the late Ming Dynasty. Lion’s Roar afforded many lessons for novels afterworld and the relevant excerpts spread far and wide. The paper consists of an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. Introduction: Firstly, it introduced the author’s life, works, and the version, the outline of the story and the artistic achievement of Lion’s Roar. Secondly, it reviewed the previous research, mainly combed the relevant academic research results in the last century and cleared the fact that the previous research mostly focus on the work content and artistic evaluation but lack of the systematic and complete textual research on the resources of the origin story of Lion’s Roar. The first chapter: Textual research on the origin story of Lion’s Roar. From discriminating the origin stories, it found that the origin story came from the story recorded on Rong Zhai essay--Chen Jichang. It traced back the earliest prototype and evolution of the story in history. At last, it explored the intention meaning and connotation of “Lion’s Roar” and” Lion’s Roar in Hedong”, also it grasped the connotation of the story comprehensively.
